Method
- Boil the elbow macaroni in salted water until just shy of tender. Drain.
- Melt butter, stir in flour and mustard powder, then whisk in milk until thick. Off the heat, stir in cheddar cheese, salt and black pepper.
- Fold the macaroni into the cheese sauce. Tip into a baking dish. Toss breadcrumbs with a little melted butter and scatter on top.
- Bake at 200C for 20 minutes until bubbling and golden.
