  1. Cut the potato into small cubes. Trim the green beans.
  2. Boil the pasta in salted water. After 2 minutes add the potato, then the green beans, so all finish together.
  3. Scoop out pasta water. Drain.
  4. Off the heat, loosen the basil pesto with a splash of pasta water and toss with the pasta, potato and green beans.
  5. Finish with grated parmesan. Taste for salt and serve.
