  1. Soften onion, carrot, celery and garlic cloves in olive oil for 10 minutes.
  2. Add canned peeled tomatoes, vegetable broth, bay leaf and the parmesan rind. Simmer 15 minutes.
  3. Stir in zucchini, cooked beans and small pasta. Simmer until the pasta is tender.
  4. Season with salt and black pepper. Remove the bay leaf and rind.
  5. Serve with a drizzle of olive oil and grated parmesan.
