Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. In a large bowl, place the minced meat. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Wash the tomatoes and slice them thinly.
- Grate the queijo flamengo (Flamengo cheese) or cut it into thin slices.
- On a clean surface, lay out a piece of cling film. Place the minced meat on the film and spread it evenly, forming a rectangle about 1 cm thick.
- Distribute the tomato slices over the meat, leaving a margin at the edges.
- Cover the tomato with the grated or sliced queijo flamengo (Flamengo cheese).
- Using the cling film to help, roll the meat carefully, forming a compact roll. Make sure the filling is well sealed inside.
- Transfer the meat roll to a baking tray, with the seam facing down.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 to 60 minutes, or until cooked through and golden on the outside. Time may vary depending on the thickness of the roll.
- Remove from the oven, let rest for about 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Shopping tip
For mixed minced meat, look for the weekly promotions at Continente or Pingo Doce, where they often have larger packs at a discount. For queijo flamengo (Flamengo cheese), the own-brand cheeses at Lidl or Auchan are usually more economical and of good quality.
