Method
- Boil the potato until tender. Drain well and mash with butter, salt and black pepper.
- Fry onion and carrot in vegetable oil, then the ground beef until no pink remains. Mix into the potato. Shape eight ovals and chill 20 minutes.
- Coat in flour, eggs and panko breadcrumbs. Toast leftover panko if the crumbs look pale.
- Bake or air-fry at 200C until golden, about 20 minutes.
- Serve with tonkatsu sauce.

Batata, carne picada de vaca, cebola and panko are easy. Molho tonkatsu or ketchup plus molho ingles. Chill the shaped ovals so they hold in the oven.
